HookLine&Sinker_BookFeels

I love to read. Most original opening sentence, I know. I read fiction, ya, dystopia, fantasy, romance, contemporary, erotica (kinda), adventure, horror, suspense (no crime/police detective/fbi crap) I absolutely adore hardcover books, i love to throw paperbacks in my bag though, easier to transport. I am definitely a cover snob. Unless it has amazing reviews i generally won't read a book with an awful cover (based off my opinion of the cover). I am not an English major, i don't have the best grammar (which i should work on, i know). If i review a book, judge my content not my grammar. i don't wanna know about it. I read books based off of my personal tastes and I may not read literary gems, but the books I read make an impact whether emotionally or spiritually etc. I love books, I love to read. Hopefully we'll like something in common. Reality is a prison, read a chapter before bed and it's a good day.
SPOILER ALERT!

Personal Review - If I Stay by: Gayle Forman

If I Stay by Gayle Forman is a novel about a girl named Mia. Mia is an average girl yada yada yada. Basically she grew up in a rock 'n' roll family, and she became a cellist. As the oddball in her family she feels like the loser etc. Girl meets rock'n'roll guy romance ensues. Car accident. Member(s) of her family die and Mia has to choose. Between life and death. Is staying worth it without your family?

If I Stay was a lot better than I thought it would be. I felt that Mia was relatable, but not overtly so. The concept of the book drew me in. For some the choice to live or die may be easy, for Mia we see the struggle she has deciding by living through her memories of both the family who has died and her friends and relatives who are waiting for her to wake up out of her coma. I am not the biggest fan of excessive memories in books, however Gayle Formen wrote these memories or flashbacks if you will, in a way that relates to Mia's now. The book goes from past to present etc so on and so forth. Surprsingly the transition was not as jarring as i thought it'd be.

I found the characters relatable, the writing kept my attention and I would definitely recommend this book to someone. This is not a book that was so amazing that I have to re-read it 10 times, but it is definitely worth the read.

For people who enjoy a good read, something with heart and a little romance and cutesy moments, go ahead pick it up and try it out. See what you think.
